Congratulating Quotes On Promotion

Top Ten albums of Charanga USA

The charanga style is well established in the U.S. since 1959 and Charanga Duboney Charlie Palmieri seems he launched the first fashion. First vocations were prompted by the success of Orquesta Aragon and Arcaño y sus Maravillas in the 1950s.
The style is still alive today, and discs charangas have recently been awarded yet. But if we find among the records of American charangas excellent records, many others are very disappointing.
Jose Fajardo was in the U.S. a few recordings of poor quality, which work in his discography, his career while Cuba was remarkable in every way.
The huge success of incournable and Cha-cha-cha and pachanga has that these terms and styles have been picked up by other types of bands, by economic necessity. We will not discuss this sub-category that has not generated much good music to our taste.
The brilliance of the brass of salsa (American style full) weighed on charangas. As Jorrín had in Cuba, conductors have often yielded to the temptation to add in the charanga clips (only happy marriage), but also trumpets or saxophones, and - very often - the very, that adds a stamp "campesino" in the set.
The string sound is often much brighter and synthetic in American records, which distorts the stamp "on Cuba." When the Danzón, it is rare to hear an American play a charanga, especially after the 1960s.
albums that follow are arranged chronologically;

1962: Johnny Pacheco, "What the Flauta vol.III Suen"

La Charanga the Dominican Johnny Pacheco lasted only four years, from 1960 to 1964 .
is the orchestra that played the upper hand at that time.
In 1958 Pacheco had participated in the Charanga Duboney Charlie Palmieri.
Co-founder of Fania to be as successful as it is known, Pacheco will not return episodically charanga style, it has been invested in many projects Salsa Fania.

The singers on this disc are Rudy Calzado and Elliot Romero.

1966: Orquesta Broadway Arrímate pa'cá "

Orquesta Broadway was founded in October 1963 by the Cuban flutist Eddy Zervigón, a former student of Richard Egües.
Zervigón replaced Johnny Pacheco's band in the last two months when he had just arrived in New York, then he founded his orchestra. In the first version of the Orquesta Broadway there were;
"Roberto Torres Edmundo Koppe and vocals, Hector Zeno timpani, Johnny Palomo to conga aul güiro Mike Martinez, Rudy Zervigón and Abraham Norman on violin, David Herscher to bass, Ira Herscher at et au piano three, Eddy et à la flûte.

1980: Pupi Legarreta" Para Bailar "

Felix" Pupi "Legarreta is a native Cuban musician of Cienfuegos, the home of the Orquesta Aragón.
He is a violinist, flutist, singer, arranger, pianist and guitarist, a pupil of Rafael Lay.
He arrived in the USA in Chicago, where he joined in 1959 the Nuevo Ritmo Charanga, one of the very first in this country.
Some ascribe the authorship of the term "Salsa" in 1962 for having published an album called "Nueva Salsa".

Pupi Legarreta in the album "Para Bailar" provides all the singing, flute and violin!
All songs on this disc are "tube potential" style charanguero.

We find in this disc and for the first time in our best-of time using a cymbal on the timbales, a factor which prevail in difficelement charangas Cuba, but the U.S. will soon be routine.
sometimes found the title "Seis Lindas Cubanas" for the standard "Tres Lindas Cubanas" (which is actually originally a sound played by the Sexteto Habanero in the 1920s). Pupi y book some nice "cannibalize" the song.

1981: Charanga La Tapa

Despite a pocket particularly poorly successful, this album is a classic, although it will be the only one in this group unlikely. John Child, the chronicler of Descarga.com for this record, expressed his doubts about the paternity of the group vis-à-vis the last two tracks, "Pasado y Presente" and "Macorina. According to him, he could be taken from this novel that would become the Charanga 4.

Mario Muñoz "Papaito" was the timbalero the Sonora Matancera, Cuba, the U.S. label SAR has signed a contract for four albums as a singer. Although
Papaito voice is not the tastiest of Cuba, this album of charanga, He is. A mysterious flute
cited under the pseudonym "El of the 7" is here - no doubt he was under exclusive contract with another firm. In any case his performance on "Suavecito" is remarkable.

Papaito resumed here the songs that made the success of Abelardo Barroso with the Orquesta Sensación. He pushes the tribute to repeat the same décimas.

1986: Fania All-Stars "Viva la Charanga"

Difficult to circumvent the Fania label giant, even if it has not produced many albums charanga must still cite it. Through its arrangements, but rather an album of Salsa resuming successful Charanga.
Yes, the stars are all there;
Johnny Pacheco, appears first, seems to lead the orchestra, took the flute.
Ray Barretto - congas
Bobby Valentín - bass
Pappo Lucca - piano Jimmy Delgado
- timbal
The string section is headed by Eddie Drennon.

"Isla del Encanto" est le "Tube" of Charanga Broadway. "Trago Vacili con tu" is a successful Orquesta Sensación. Los tamalitos Olga is obviously directory José Fajardo.

1987: His Primero "Tradición Cubana en Nueva York"

A very strong album by a group which once again will be the only album, apparently. The Director is the timbalero Charlie Santiago. Energy is one of New York salsa, and the orchestra sounds awfully good.
The flutist Dave Valentin is that officers already in the Conjunto Libre, and delivers one of his best performances charangueras. Ropes Pupi Legarreta wiggle sont par. Les

1994-95: Cachao "Master Sessions Vol.I and II-

Of the two albums released a year apart, the vol.1 which was awarded with a Grammy Award. It is not then Salsa album: the recently deceased master here excels in both areas it controls: Descarga and the Charanga.
If only compiles songs from both albums charanga, we obtain the following eight pieces;

(Compilation charanguera from the 2 albums)
1 ° Al Fin Te Ví ***
2 Isora Club *** *** Mambo
3 ° 4 °
Marianao Social Club *** Los
5 ° Tres Golpes

8 ° *** *** Viva Africa

Both albums start with each danza duo played with Paquito D'Rivera clarinet. The vol.1 (who won an award) starts with three pieces of charanga style.
production of the two discs is provided by Emilio Estefan Jr., for the "executive" and the actor Andy Garcia.

musicians involved in this compilation are:
Israel "Cachao" López - Executive, bass and coro
Felo Barrio - güiro and coronary
Paquito D'Rivera - clarinet and saxophone
Richie Flores - congas Rolando
Laserie - coro
Nestor Torres - flute
Alfredo Valdés Jr. - piano
Orestes Vilató - timbal
The string section consists of seven violins and a cello.

The evidence here is done with these two albums can be achieved commercial success with Danzón. Versions are beautiful pieces that we had not saved over a long time ...
Cachao and his brother were the champions of the production and writing at the time of danzones Nuevo Ritmo, so that 'and they played and wrote for Arcaño addition Maravillas.

1995: Charanga of 4 "¡Se Pego ...!"

La Charanga the 4 is related to Roberto Torres, Cuban singer born in Guines. He founded SAR label in 1979 and subsequently recorded 13 albums under this label, with at least one of the Charanga 4. HRH The label has opened énormémment Caribbean and African markets. It is then the third disc SAR our top-ten, and after Pupi Papaito.

It is really difficult to get information about La Charanga of 4. Not just any website does not mention, but it just seems that no book either ...
As was customary in Cuba, the record cover of the SAR does not mencionnent the names of musicians ... but arrangers! Some columnists complain discs. On Descarga.com reads:
"When the SAR label decides he finally mentioned the names of his musicians?". We know of only two musicians have been part of this orchestra: pianist Alfredo Valdes Jr. and bassist Marino Solano.
Yet this is not the U.S. charanga an orchestra of second order. She recorded, to our knowledge, at least eight albums, including three in honor of Beny Moré and the Trio Matamoros.

1998: Charanga Colonial

Another disc of the SAR label dédidément very charanguero, produced naturally by Roberto Torres. This
"Charanga Colonial" - not to be confused with the Conjunto Colonial - would be "a sort of extension of the Charanga 4".
The interest on this disc is also in the texts of songs, which pleased good stories on the tone of ironic cha-cha-cha of yesteryear. We eu quatre étoiles send to mettre à la chanson "Chontaduro."

"No Worry" et "Chontaduro" sont deux perles. "The Shrimp Fishermen, nettement accelerates, est une excellente reprise du répertoire of Orquesta Aragon," Los Pescadores de Varadero.
